Commandments about Jesus

  1. Be baptized in the name of Jesus.
  2. (Or get baptized in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, as Jesus commanded.)
    Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Acts 2:38

  3. Put on Jesus.
  4. Put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 13:14

  5. Don't tempt Jesus.
  6. If you tempt Christ, he'll send fiery serpents to bite and kill you. (Like he did in Numbers 21:6-9)
    Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents. 1 Corinthians 10:9

  7. Work hard for Jesus.
  8. Be ... abounding in the work of the Lord. 1 Corinthians 15:58

  9. Curse those who don't love Jesus.
  10. If any man love not the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be Anathema. 1 Corinthians 16:22

  11. Force all of your thoughts to obey Jesus.
  12. (Don't be a free thinker.)

  15. Examine yourself to see if Jesus is in you.

  17. Be free with Jesus.
  18. Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. Galatians 5:1

  19. Have the same mind as Jesus.

Commandments about Paul

  1. Mark and avoid those that disagree with Paul.
  2. (They serve their own belly, not Jesus.)
    Mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple. Romans 16:17-18

  3. Follow Paul.
  4. Wherefore I beseech you, be ye followers of me. 1 Corinthians 4:16

    Be ye followers of me. 1 Corinthians 11:1

    Be followers together of me. Philippians 3:17

  5. If you think you are a prophet or spiritual, you must first acknowledge that everything that Paul says is a commandment from God.
  6. If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord.1 Corinthians 14:37

  7. Don't let anyone think that Paul is a fool.
  8. Let no man think me a fool. 2 Corinthians 11:16

  9. Curse anyone who preaches any other gospel but the gospel of Paul.
  10. Though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. Galatians 1:8-9

  11. Follow those who follow Paul.
  12. Be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample. Philippians 3:17

    These things teach and exhort. 1 Timothy 6:2

    Keep this commandment without spot, unrebukable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Timothy 6:14

  11. Don't be ashamed of the author of Second Timothy.
  12. Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner. 2 Timothy 1:8

  13. Hold fast to the words of the author of Second Timothy.
  14. Hold fast the form of sound words, which thou hast heard of me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus. 2 Timothy 1:13

    The things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also. 2 Timothy 2:2

    Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things. 2 Timothy 2:7

    Of these things put them in remembrance. 2 Timothy 2:14

  15. Speak about the things in Titus chapter 2.
  16. These things speak. Titus 2:15

  17. Pray for the author of Hebrews.
  18. (Because he had a good conscience and tried to live honestly.)
    Pray for us: for we trust we have a good conscience, in all things willing to live honestly. Hebrews 13:18

  19. Don't add any words to the book of Revelation.
  20. If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: Revelation 22:18

  21. Don't remove any words from the book of Revelation.
  22. If any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life. Revelation 22:19

Philosophy, Science, and Apologetics

  1. Don't let anyone spoil you with philosophy.
  2. Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. Colossians 2:8

  3. Avoid the opposition of science (falsely so called).
  4. Avoiding ... oppositions of science falsely so called. 1 Timothy 6:20

  5. Convert anyone who believes incorrectly.
  6. If any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him; Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins. James 5:19-20

  7. Defend the faith.
  8. Earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. Jude 3


  1. At every church service, two or three prophets should speak and everyone else should judge what they say.
  2. Let the prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge. 1 Corinthians 14:29

  3. If something is revealed to you while you're sitting, wait for the other prophets to finish their prophecies.
  4. If any thing be revealed to another that sitteth by, let the first hold his peace. For ye may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted. 1 Corinthians 14:30-31

  5. Covet to prophesy.
  6. Covet to prophesy. 1 Corinthians 14:39

  7. Don't despise prophesyings.
  8. Despise not prophesyings. 1 Thessalonians 5:20

  9. Test spirits to see if they are from God.
  10. (Because many false prophets have gone into the world.)
    Try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. 1 John 4:1

Preachers, Elders, Evangelists, Saints, Bishops, and Deacons

  1. Give money to saints.
  2. Distributing to the necessity of saints. Romans 12:13

  3. Pay preachers to preach to you.
  4. The Lord ordained that they which preach the gospel should live of the gospel. 1 Corinthians 9:14

  5. Know, esteem, and love your religious leaders.
  6. Know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you; And to esteem them very highly in love for their work's sake. 1 Thessalonians 5:12-13

  7. Bishops and deacons must be perfect and have only one wife.
  8. (Their wives must be perfect, too.)
    A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach; Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous; One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity; ... Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil. Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.

    Likewise must the deacons be grave, not doubletongued, not given to much wine, not greedy of filthy lucre; Holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience. And let these also first be proved; then let them use the office of a deacon, being found blameless. Even so must their wives be grave, not slanderers, sober, faithful in all things. Let the deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well. 1 Timothy 3:2-7

  9. Give elders that rule well double honor.
  10. (And maybe a double paycheck.)
    Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine. For the scripture saith, thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn. And, The labourer is worthy of his reward. 1 Timothy 5:17-18

  11. An elder can't be accused of any wrongdoing unless there are two or three witnesses.
  12. Against an elder receive not an accusation, but before two or three witnesses. 1 Timothy 5:19

  13. Preach the word.
  14. Preach the word. 2 Timothy 4:2

  15. Be an evangelist.
  16. Do the work of an evangelist. 2 Timothy 4:5

  17. Remember those who spoke the word of God to you.
  18. (Follow their faith, considering the end of their conversation.)
    Remember them ... who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation. Hebrews 13:7b

  19. Elders, feed the flock of God.
  20. The elders which are among you I exhort, ... Feed the flock of God ... not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind; Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being examples to the flock. 1 Peter 5:2-3

Speaking in Tongues

  1. Speak in tongues.
  2. I would that ye all spake with tongues. 1 Corinthians 14:5

  3. When you speak in an unknown tongue, pray that someone will interpret it.
  4. Let him that speaketh in an unknown tongue pray that he may interpret. 1 Corinthians 14:13

  5. No more than two or three people should speak in tongues, with someone to interpret it.
  6. If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course; and let one interpret. 1 Corinthians 14:27

  7. Don't speak in tongues unless an interpreter is present.
  8. If there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God. 1 Corinthians 14:28

  9. Don't forbid people to speak in tongues.
  10. Forbid not to speak with tongues. 1 Corinthians 14:39b

The Holy Ghost / Spirit

  1. Walk in the Spirit.
  2. (If you do, you'll never fulfill the lusts of the flesh.)
    Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. Galatians 5:16

    If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Galatians 5:25

  3. Be led by the Spirit.
  4. (If you're led by the spirit, you don't have to follow the law.)
    If ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. Galatians 5:18

  5. Don't make God's Holy Spirit sad.
  6. Grieve not the holy Spirit of God. Ephesians 4:30

  7. Be filled with the Spirit.
  8. Be filled with the Spirit. Ephesians 5:18

  9. Keep the good thing that the Holy Ghost gave you.
  10. That good thing which was committed unto thee keep by the Holy Ghost which dwelleth in us. 2 Timothy 1:14

  11. Hear what the Spirit says to the churches.
  12. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches. Revelation 2:7, 11, 17, 29; 3:6, 13, 22

The Devil

  1. Don't give place to the devil.
  2. Neither give place to the devil. Ephesians 4:27

  3. Resist the devil.
  4. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. James 4:7

  5. Watch out for the devil.
  6. Be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour. 1 Peter 5:8

People who should be shunned

  1. Don't associate with arguing doubters.
  2. Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations. Romans 14:1

  3. Don't eat or associate with the wicked children of disobedience.
  4. (i.e., fornicators, extortioners, idolaters, railers, drunkards, whoremongers, and unclean or covetous people)
    I wrote unto you in an epistle not to company with fornicators. Yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world. But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat. ... Put away from among yourselves that wicked person. 1 Corinthians 5:9-13

    For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience. Be not ye therefore partakers with them. Ephesians 5:7

  5. Don't have fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness.
  6. Have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness. Ephesians 5:11a

  7. Stay away from people who walk disorderly.
  8. We command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly. 2 Thessalonians 3:6a

  9. Stay away from people who do not accept the tradition taught by the author of Second Thessalonians.
  10. We command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh ... not after the tradition which he received of us. 2 Thessalonians 3:6b

  11. Shun those who disobey the commandments in Second Thessalonians.
  12. (But don't treat them as enemies; admonish them instead.)
    If any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed. Yet count him not as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother. 2 Thessalonians 3:14-15

  13. Shun those who teach anything that disagrees with the commandments in First Timothy.
  14. (They are all proud, evil, know-nothings.)
    If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness; He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings, Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself. 1 Timothy 6:3-5

  15. Reject heretics.
  16. (After warning them a time or two.)
    A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject. Knowing that he that is such is subverted, and sinneth, being condemned of himself. Titus 3:10

The End of the World

  1. Don't judge anyone or anything until the Lord comes.
  2. Judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God. 1 Corinthians 4:5

  3. Comfort one another with the the words in First Thessalonians 4:15-17.
  4. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 1 Thessalonians 4:15-17

    Comfort one another with these words [in the previous three verses]. 1 Thessalonians 4:18

  5. Don't be deceived by people who say the end of the world will come before there's a falling away and the man of sin is revealed.
  6. Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition. 2 Thessalonians 2:3

  7. Be patient. Jesus is coming soon.
  8. Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord ... for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh. James 5:8

  9. Hope for the grace that Jesus will bring when he returns.
  10. Hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. 1 Peter 1:13

  11. Remember the words of the apostles who said there would be mockers in the last days.
  12. (Who walk after their own ungodly lusts.)
    Remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ; How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts. Jude 17-18

General Rules for Christian Living

  1. Offer your body as a sacrifice to God.
  2. Present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God. Romans 12:1

  3. Don't conform to the world.
  4. Be not conformed to this world. Romans 12:2

  5. Receive people with weak faith.
  6. Him that is weak in the faith receive ye. Romans 14:1

  7. Don't offend Jews, Gentiles, or the church.
  8. Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God. 1 Corinthians 10:32

  9. Don't eat the bread and cup of the Lord unworthily.
  10. (Or you are guilty of the body and blood of the Lord, and you eat and drink damnation to yourself.)
    Whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. ... He that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body. 1 Corinthians 11:27-29

  11. Put off the old lustful man and put on the new righteous man.
  12. Put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And be renewed in the spirit of your mind. And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. Ephesians 4:22-24

  13. Prove what is acceptable to the Lord.
  14. Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord. Ephesians 5:10

  15. Reprove the unfruitful works of darkness.
  16. Have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. Ephesians 5:11b

    Reprove. 2 Timothy 4:2

  17. Don't talk about the secret things done by the unfruitful works of darkness.
  18. Have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret. Ephesians 5:11-12

  19. Have conversations that are worthy of the gospel of Christ.
  20. Let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ. Philippians 1:27

  21. Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
  22. Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. Philippians 2:12

  23. Stand fast in the Lord.
  24. Stand fast in the Lord. Philippians 4:4

  25. Don't let any filthy communication come out of your mouth.
  26. Put off all these ... filthy communication out of your mouth. Colossians 3:8

  27. Don't do anything that appears to be evil.
  28. Abstain from all appearance of evil. 1 Thessalonians 5:22

  29. Don't lay your hands suddenly on anyone.
  30. Lay hands suddenly on no man. 1 Timothy 5:22

  31. Fight the good fight of faith.
  32. Fight the good fight of faith. 1 Timothy 6:12

  33. Don't be ashamed of Jesus's testimony.
  34. Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord. 2 Timothy 1:8

  35. Partake in the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God.
  36. Be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God. 2 Timothy 1:8

    Endure afflictions. 2 Timothy 4:5

  37. Study to show that you are approved by God.
  38. (Rightly dividing the word of truth, so you won't have to be ashamed.)
    Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 2 Timothy 2:15

  39. Exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
  40. Exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. 2 Timothy 4:2a

  41. Rebuke with all authority.
  42. Rebuke. 2 Timothy 4:2b

    Rebuke with all authority. Titus 2:15a

  43. Prove your ministry.
  44. Make full proof of thy ministry. 2 Timothy 4:5b

  45. Receive with meekness the planted word.
  46. (It can save your soul.)
    Receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. James 1:21

  47. Do the word, don't just hear it.
  48. Be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. James 1:22

  49. Keep yourself unspotted from the world.
  50. Keep himself unspotted from the world. James 1:27

  51. Desire the sincere milk of the word.
  52. As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby. 1 Peter 2:2

  53. Make sure your calling and election is sure.
  54. Give diligence to make your calling and election sure. 2 Peter 1:10

  55. Don't love the world.
  56. Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 1 John 2:18

  57. Save others by pulling them out of the fire, while hating their garments that are spotted by the flesh.
  58. Others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh. Jude 23
