0 Disbelievers will drink boiling fluids (Surah 10)

Episode 14: Disbelievers will drink boiling fluids

Surah 10: Jonah (Yunus)

Lo! This is a mere wizard

1 This is wise scripture. 2 But disbelievers say, "Lo! this is a mere wizard."

Episode 14: Disbelievers will drink boiling fluids

4 Disbelievers will drink boiling fluids and face a painful doom (because they disbelieved).

5 He [Allah] made the moon a light.

7 Those who neglect our [Allah's] revelations will live in a fire.

13 We destroyed the generations before you. That's what we do to guilty people.

Bring us another Quran or change it

15 When the Quran is recited to them, they say, "Bring us another Quran or change it."

17 The worst thing anyone can do is lie about or deny Allah's revelations.

21 Some plot against Allah, but Allah is an even swifter plotter.

26 The owners of the garden will never have dust on their faces.

27 Those who commit evil deeds will own the fire.

Just try to write a surah like one of the Quran's

37 The Quran couldn't have been invented. It's from the Lord of the Worlds. 38 If you think it could be invented, write a surah like it.

44 Allah hasn't hurt people. They hurt themselves.

45 Those who aren't guided by Allah will die on the last day.

50 Guilty people will be doomed like a raid in the night.

54 Those who are doomed will feel remorse for what they have done, but it will not save them from the doom that Allah has prepared.

64 You can't change the words of Allah.

70 We will make them taste a dreadful doom because they disbelieved.

The story of Noah (the short version)

71 Tell the story of Noah, when he asked his people, “What are you going to do? 72 You don't have to pay me for asking.”

73 But they denied him. So we drowned them all for denying our revelations.

Pharaoh's dead body (preserved by Allah)

75 Then we sent Moses to Pharaoh and his chiefs.

88 Moses said, “Harden their hearts so they won't believe until they see the painful doom.”

89 He [Allah] said, “Your prayer has been heard.”

90 When the Pharaoh was about to drown, he said, “I believe in the God of the Jews.”

91 Allah said to the Pharaoh, “What? Did you used to rebel against me? 92 But okay, we'll save your dead body after you drown for a sign for others not to rebel against us.”

Those who deny Allah's revelations are losers

95 Those who deny the revelations of Allah will lose. 97 They will have a painful doom.

100 People only believe if Allah wants them to. He makes them unclean if they have no sense.

A few more words about this episode

If you think it could be invented, write a surah like it.
Here's a Surah that someone wrote in response to this challenge, trying match the beauty of Surah 111 .
See note for Quran 2:23 in Episode 2.
When the Pharaoh was about to drown, he said, “I believe in the God of the Jews.” (90)
In the Exodus story, the Pharaoh never repented or converted to Judaism because God repeatedly hardened his heart. (See Exodus 14:4, for example.)
