Who created the caste system?

If I [Krishna] did not perform action; I should be the author of confusion of castes, and should destroy these creatures. Bhagavad Gita 3:24

The four castes were emanated by Me [Krishna] ... know Me to be the author of them. Bhagavad Gita 4:13
