Jesus gave wine to the Nephites to drink, so it must be OK.
And when they had given unto the multitude he [Jesus] also gave them wine to drink, and commanded them that they should give unto the multitude. 3 Nephi 20:5-7
Drinking is forbidden in the Doctrine and Covenants
inasmuch as any man drinketh wine or strong drink among you, behold it is not good, neither meet in the sight of your Father.... Strong drinks are not for the belly, but for the washing of your bodies. ... He truly gave unto them ... wine to drink. Doctrine and Covenants 89:5-7
