Revelation given to Joseph Smith in Independence, Jackson County, Missouri, April 26, 1832
1 If you forgive others, I'll forgive you. 2 But all of you have sinned. If you sin again, sore judgments will fall on your heads. 4 You ask for revelations, and I give them to you. But you will be punished if you don't obey me. 7 I, the Lord, will forgive your sin, but if you sin in the same way again, your former sins return and won't be forgiven.
11 Edward Partridge, Newel K. Whitney, A. Sidney Gilbert, Sidney Rigdon, Joseph Smith, John Whitmer Oliver Cowdery, W. W. Phelps, and Martin Harris should be bound together.
12 I have consecrated the land of Kirtland in my own time. 14 For Zion must arise and put on her beautiful garments.
17 You are all equal and have equal claims on the properties. Each man will receive what he wants and needs (if those needs are just). 20 This is an everlasting command to you and your successors. 21 Whoever disobeys this command will be given to Satan.
22 This is wisdom: make friends with the mammon of unrighteousness. 24 Amen.
Revelation given through Joseph Smith at Independence, Missouri, April 30, 1832
1 This is what the Lord says about those who have lost their husbands or fathers. 2 A man must provide for his wife and children while he is alive. 3 If the wife and children aren't faithful, they'll be expelled from the church but will retain their inheritance. 5 If the family doesn't receive an adequate inheritance, the church will provide for them. 6 The church will provide for widows, orphans, and the poor. Amen.
1 This is a revelation to Joseph Smith, Jun. and six elders. 2 The Lord's church is established in the last days. And it will gather on Mount Zion in the city of New Jerusalem. 3 The city will be built at the temple lot, appointed by the Lord's finger, and dedicated by Joseph Smith, Jun., on the western boundary of the state of Missouri. 4 It will be created in this generation. 5 This generation will still be alive when a cloud will rest on the house, and the glory of the Lord will fill it.
12 Esaias [Isaiah] received the priesthood from the hand of God - five or so generations before Moses. 13 Esaias was a contemporary of Abraham. 14 Abraham received the priesthood from Melchizedek, who received it from his fathers, all the way back to Noah. 15 Noah received it from the Enoch's lineage. 16 And Enoch received it from Abel, who received it from Adam. 17 And this priesthood continues in the church. 22 Without this priesthood no one can see God and live. 23 Moses tried to prepare the people to see God's face. 24 But they hardened their hearts. 25 So God, in his anger, took Moses and the priesthood from them. 26-27 But the lesser priesthood continued in Aaron's family, until the John the Baptist was filled with the Holy Ghost in his mother's womb. 28 He was baptized when he was a child and was ordained to the priesthood by an angel when he was eight days old to overthrow the kingdom of the Jews.
57 Everyone is condemned until they read and believe the Book of Mormon.
65 And these believers will show these things: 67 They will cast out devils, 68 heal the sick, 69 cure blind and deaf people, 70 and make dumb people speak. 71 Poisons won't hurt them. 72 and venomous snakes won't harm them.
74 Those who don't believe and aren't baptized will be damned. 76 They are to be condemned for their evil unbelieving hearts.
80 Those who preach the gospel will never be hungry or thirsty. 81 So don't worry about what to eat, drink, or wear for clothing. 84 Make no plans for the future. 89 Those who you preach to will give your clothes, food, and money. 92 If you're not welcomed, wash your feet with pure water, either hot or cold.
9595 Wo to the houses and cities that reject you. 97 I'll send plagues upon them.
104 Send money to the bishop in Zion or Ohio.
109 Don't let the head say to the feet, "I don't need you."
112 Bishop Newell K. Whitney should travel around helping the poor by humbling the rich. 114 He should also go to New York, Albany, and Boston to warn them that they and their families will all be killed if they reject the teachings of his church. 116 If he trusts me, I'll know whenever a hair falls from his head.
116 All the rest of you should do the same: Go preach everywhere telling everyone that they will be killed if they don't believe what you say. 118 I will destroy their kingdoms and shake the earth and stars. 119 You can't see it now, but soon I'll come and you'll see it. 120 Amen.
