1-2 Someone asked about the doom that is about to fall on disbelievers, which no one can repel. 3 It comes from Allah, the lord of the ascending stairways.
4 For the angels and the Spirit ascending to him, a day is like 50,000 years.
6 On that day the skey will become molten copper, and the hills like flakes of wool. 11-14 Fathers will try to ransom themselves with their children, wife, brothers, family, and everyone on earth.
15 But they won't be able to escape the fire of hell, which is eager to roast them. 22-28 Only worshipers and those who believe in judgment day and are fearful of the Lord's doom can feel secure.
29-35 Those who are chaste, except with their wives and slaves, will live in gardens.
36 But what's wrong with the disbelievers? Why do they stare at you (Muhammad)? 40-41 I swear by the Lord of the rising and setting places of the planets that we are able to replace them by others who are better than them. 42-44 So let them chat and play until the day when they come running out of their graves, with their eyes aghast. That's the day they are promised.
1 We [Allah] sent Noah to the people, saying to him, “Warn the people of the painful doom that is coming to them.” 2-3 So Noah said to them, “I am a plain warner to you. Serve Allah and obey me.”
5-23 Noah said to Allah,
I've warned the people night and day. But it just adds to their repugnance. They stick their fingers in their ears and cover themselves with their clothes. I've spoken to them in public and in private. I told them how Allah created the seven heavens. And made the moon for a light and the sun for a lamp. But they've disobeyed me and plotted a mighty plot. They said, “Don't forsake your gods - Wadd, Suwa', Yghuth, Ya'uq, and Nasr.
25 So they were drowned and then forced to enter a fire. They didn't have any helpers in place of Allah.
26-27 Noah said to Allah, “Don't let any of the disbelievers live. They will mislead your slaves and have children who will become lewd ingrates.
1-41-4 Say (Muhammad): It is revealed to me that some Jinn said,
We have heard a marvelous Quran. So we believe in it and say that Allah doesn't have a partner, wife, or son. Some of us used to lie about Allah.
The Jinn who listened to the Quran said,
We looked for heaven, but found it filled with strong warders and meteors. We used to sit in high places and listen. But now there's a flame waiting for us there. We can't escape from Allah on earth, and we can't escape by flight.
14-17 Some of us have surrendered, and some of us are unjust. Those who are unjust are firewood for hell. Whoever forgets his lord will be thrust into ever-growing torment.
20 Say to them (Muhammad), “I only pray to Allah. I never say he has a partner.”
23 Whoever disobeys Allah and his messenger will dwell in hell forever.
11-13 Leave me [Allah] to deal with the deniers. I'll tie them up, burn them in a raging fire, and feed them food that chokes them in a painful doom.
14-16 On the day with the earth and the hills rock, and the hills become a heap of sand. We sent you a messenger to witness against you, as we did with the Pharaoh. But the Pharaoh rebelled against us, so we seized him with a not so gentle grip.
17-18 If you disbelieve, how will you protect yourselves on the day that turns children's hair grey, and heaven is ripped apart?
20 Your Lord knows how you stay up praying nearly two-thirds of the night, or sometimes half or a third. Allah measures and keeps track of such things. Pay the poor due and loan Allah a goodly loan.
