1 Fear your Lord. The earthquake of the hour of doom is a tremendous thing. 2 On that day, nursing mothers will stop nursing and pregnant women will miscarry. Sober people will act like they're drunk. The doom of Allah will be strong upon them.
3-4 Those who argue about Allah without knowledge follow the devil. He will guide them to the punishment of the flame.
5 If you doubt the resurrection, then here's your proof! We [Allah] created you from dust, then from a drop of seed, then from a clot, then from a little lump of shapely and shapeless flesh. 6 That's because Allah can bring dead people back to life.
7 The hour will come when Allah will raise dead people from the graves.
8-9 Those who argue about Allah without knowledge or scripture will taste the doom of burning.
15 Whoever doubts that Allah will give Muhammad victory in this world and the next should hang himself.
18 There are many that deserve the doom. Allah can do whatever he wants.
19 Disbelievers will have garments of fire, with boiling fluid poured on their heads. 20 Their bellies and skin will melt. 21 And for them there are hooked rods of iron. 22 Whenever they try to escape, they are driven back in, and it is said to them: “Taste the doom of burning.”
23 Those who believe and do good works will live in underground gardens where rivers flow. They'll have gold armlets, pearls, and silk clothes.
25 We will cause those who disbelieve to taste a painful doom.
27 Announce a pilgrimage. 28 Feed the poor and unfortunate. 30 Don't lie.
39 Those [believers] who have been wronged [by disbelievers] are permitted to fight. And Allah will make them victorious.
41 Be kind to others, forbid injustice, and pay the poor-due.
45 How many towns have we [Allah] destroyed!
47 They will ask you when the doom is coming, saying that Allah has failed in his promise. But a day with Allah is a thousand years.
51 Those who strive to thwart our revelations are the rightful owners of the fire.
52 Whenever we send a messenger with a revelation, Satan proposes the opposite. Then Allah abolishes whatever Satan proposed and establishes his revelation. 53 That way he makes whatever the devil proposes a temptation for those whose heart is a disease. Evil doers are in open schism.
56 Disbelievers are in for a big surprise when the doom comes on a disastrous day. 57 Those who disbelieve and deny our revelations will have a shameful doom . 72 Allah promises a fire for those who disbelieve.
78 Pay the poor due.
1-6 Believers are successful, if they are humble, pay the poor due, and guard their modesty -- except from their wives and female slaves.
12 We [Allah] created man from wet earth. 13 Then placed him as a drop of seed in a safe place. 14 Then we made a clot, and from the clot we made a little lump of bones, and put some flesh on the bones. Allah is the best creator!
15 Then you die. 16 And on the day of resurrection you're alive again.
17 We created you above the seven paths. 21 And lo! We give you the contents of of cattle bellies to drink.
27 We said to Noah (as "the oven gushed water"), Don't ask me to save anyone. I'm going to drown them all. 41 So there was an awful cry. And we drowned them all.
44 After the flood, we sent other messengers. The people ignored them, so we killed them too. That's what we do to those who don't believe.
45 Then we sent Moses and Aaron with our tokens to the Pharaoh.
69 They didn't know the messenger [Muhammad], so they rejected him. 70 Or they said he is insane.
74 Those who don't believe in the afterlife have gone astray.
77 We give them extreme punishment.
86 Say: Who is Lord of the seven heavens and Lord of the tremendous throne?
103-4 The fire burns their faces (and they are glum).
117 Disbelievers will not be successful.
