Wisdom : Cruelty & Violence (24)

  1. The children of adulterers will be destroyed. If they live long, they will be have no value, and they will not be honored in their old age. If they die quickly, they shall have no hope, and no one will comfort them. 3:16-18

  2. The the end of the wicked is dreadful. 3:19

  3. God will sharpen his wrath like a spear. 5:21

  4. Wisdom directed the course of the just (Noah) during the flood. 10:4

  5. She delivered the just man (Lot) in the Pentapolis (Sodom and the five cities of the plain). 10:6

  6. The land of which still smokes, whose trees have fruit that never ripens, and where there is a pillar of sail as a monument to the incredulous soul (Lot's wife). 10:7

  7. she drowned their enemies in the sea, and the just took the spoils of the wicked. 10:19

  8. The Israelites took revenge on their adversaries. 11:3

  9. The Egyptians were forced to drink human blood. 11:7

  10. God killed the Israelites' adversaries. 11:9

  11. The wicked were judged and tormented with wrath. Wherever they were they were doubly tormented. 11:10-12

  12. Since they worshiped serpents and beasts, you sent beasts to destroy them. 11:16

  13. Those who sin are tormented in the same way as they sinned. 11:17

  14. God chastises people little by little, so they will quit being wicked and believe in him. 12:2

  15. You hated the original inhabitants of the holy land, because they murdered their own children and ate human blood and entrails. You wanted the Israelites to slaughter them for sacrificing their children. 12:3-6

  16. You sent wasps to kill them little by little. 12:8

  17. You were able to kill them through war, cruel beasts, or with your own word you could kill them at once. 12:9

  18. They were a wicked generation by their very natures, and could never have been changed. 12:10

  19. They and their children were cursed from the beginning, and you never forgave any of them for their sins. 12:11

  20. Who can say to you, "What have you done?" Who can complain after you have killed them all? By doing such things, you teach your people to be just and humane. 12:12-19

  21. The enemies of your servants deserve to die. 12:20

  22. You have greatly tormented thso who have lived foolishly and unjustly, bythe same things that they worshiped. 12:23

  23. You sent judgment upon them like they were senseless children to mock them. They were killed because they didn't believe in you. 12:25-27

  24. God will torment both the idol and the idol maker. 14:10
