Mosiah: Selected Verses

  1. For it were not possible that our father, Lehi, could have remembered all these things, to have taught them to his children, except ... for he having been taught in the language of the Egyptians. - Mosiah 1:4
  2. These sayings are true, and also that these records are true. - Mosiah 1:6
  3. I have caused that ye should assemble yourselves together that I might rid my garments of your blood. - Mosiah 2:28
  4. Mercy hath no claim on that man; therefore his final doom is to endure a never-ending torment. - Mosiah 2:39
  5. He shall be called Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Father of heaven and earth. - Mosiah 3:8
  6. A state of misery and endless torment, from whence they can no more return; therefore they have drunk damnation to their own souls. - Mosiah 3:25

  14. In the strength of the Lord did we go forth to battle. - Mosiah 9:17
  15. God did hear our cries and did answer our prayers; and we did go forth in his might; yea, we did go forth against the Lamanites, and in one day and a night we did slay three thousand and forty-three. - Mosiah 9:18
  16. They [the Lamanites] had their heads shaved that they were naked; and they were girded with a leathern girdle about their loins. - Mosiah 10:8
  17. We did go up to battle against the Lamanites ... in the strength of the Lord. - Mosiah 10:10
  18. They [the Lamanites] were a wild, and ferocious, and a blood-thirsty people. - Mosiah 10:12
  19. I did stimulate them to go to battle with their might, putting their trust in the Lord. - Mosiah 10:19

  21. Noah ... had many wives and concubines. - Mosiah 11:1-2

  25. This generation ... shall be smitten on the cheek. - Mosiah 12:2
  26. The vultures of the air, and the dogs, yea, and the wild beasts, shall devour their flesh. - Mosiah 12:2
  27. I will cause that they shall howl all the day long. - Mosiah 12:4
  28. They shall be driven before like a dumb ass. - Mosiah 12:5
  29. How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings. - Mosiah 12:21
  30. God shall smite you if ye lay your hands upon me. - Mosiah 13:3
  31. Now it came to pass after Abinadi had spoken these words ... his face shone with exceeding luster, even as Moses' did while in the mount of Sinai. - Mosiah 13:5
  32. The time shall come when it shall no more be expedient to keep the law of Moses. - Mosiah 13:27
  33. Did not Moses prophesy unto them concerning the coming of the Messiah? - Mosiah 13:33
  34. The Son of God ... being the Father and the Son -- they are one God. - Mosiah 15:2-4
  35. If Christ had not come into the world, speaking of things to come as though they had already come, there could have been no redemption. - Mosiah 16:6
  36. Christ the Lord, who is the very Eternal Father. - Mosiah 16:15
  37. As many as did believe him did go forth to a place which was called Mormon, having received its name from the king ... the land having been infested ... by wild beasts. - Mosiah 18:4
  38. All this was done in Mormon, yea, by the waters of Mormon, in the forest that was near the waters of Mormon; yea, the place of Mormon, the waters of Mormon, the forest of Mormon. - Mosiah 18:30
  39. In the morning the Lord caused a deep sleep to come upon the Lamanites ... And Alma and his people departed into the wilderness. - Mosiah 24:19-20
  40. There were many of the rising generation that ... did not believe the tradition of their fathers. - Mosiah 26:1
  41. The angel of the Lord appeared unto them; and he descended as it were in a cloud; and he spake as it were with a voice of thunder, which caused the earth to shake upon which they stood. - Mosiah 27:11
  42. Alma ... became dumb, that he could not open his mouth; yea, and he became weak, even that he could not move his hands. - Mosiah 27:19
  43. Then shall they confess, who live without God in the world, that the judgment of an everlasting punishment is just upon them. - Mosiah 27:31
  44. He [Mosiah] translated them by the means of those two stones which were fastened into the two rims of a bow. - Mosiah 28:13
