  1. The earth shook mightily, and the walls of the prison were rent in twain, so that they fell to the earth; and the chief judge, and the lawyers, and priests, and teachers, who smote upon Alma and Amulek, were slain by the fall thereof.   0:0
  2. He [Nehor] also testified unto the people that all mankind should be saved at the last day, and that they need not fear nor tremble, but that they might lift up their heads and rejoice; for the Lord had created all men, and had also redeemed all men; and, in the end, all men should have eternal life.   1:4
  3. Those who did not belong to their church did indulge themselves in sorceries, and in idolatry or idleness, and in babblings, and in envyings and strife; wearing costly apparel; being lifted up in the pride of their own eyes; persecuting, lying, thieving, robbing, committing whoredoms, and murdering, and all manner of wickedness.   1:32
  4. Yea, I believe that the Great Spirit created all things, and I desire that ye should tell me concerning all these things, and I will believe thy words.   2:11
  5. The Lord did strengthen the hand of the Nephites, that they slew the Amlicites with great slaughter.   2:18
  6. The Nephites being strengthened by the hand of the Lord, having prayed mightily to him that he would deliver them out of the hands of their enemies, therefore the Lord did hear their cries, and did strengthen them, and the Lamanites and the Amlicites did fall before them.   2:28
  7. Alma ... cried, saying: O Lord, have mercy and spare my life ... and he was strengthened, insomuch that he slew Amlici with the sword.   2:30
  8. Now the heads of the Lamanites were shorn; and they were naked, save it were skin which was girded about their loins.   3:5
  9. And the skins of the Lamanites were dark, according to the mark which was set upon their fathers, which was a curse upon them.   3:6
  10. They were cursed; and the Lord God set a mark upon them, yea, upon Laman and Lemuel, and also the sons of Ishmael, and Ishmaelitish women.   3:7
  11. And this was done that their seed might be distinguished from the seed of their brethren ... that they might not mix.   3:8
  12. And it came to pass that whosoever did mingle his seed with that of the Lamanites did bring the same curse upon his seed.   3:9
  13. Behold, the Lamanites have I cursed, and I will set a mark on them that they and their seed may be separated from thee and thy seed, from this time henceforth and forever.   3:14
  14. I will set a mark upon him that mingleth his seed with thy brethren, that they may be cursed also.   3:15
  15. I will set a mark upon him that fighteth against thee and thy seed.   3:16
  16. I will bless thee, and whomsoever shall be called thy seed, henceforth and forever.   3:17
  17. There can no man be saved except his garments are washed white.   5:21
  18. How will any of you feel, if ye shall stand before the bar of God, having your garments stained with blood and all manner of filthiness.   5:22
  19. Have ... your garments have been cleansed and made white through the blood of Christ? Alma 5:27.   5:27
  20. If ye are not the sheep of the good shepherd ... the devil is your shepherd.   5:39
  21. Alma ... went ... into the valley of Gideon, there having been a city built, which was called the city of Gideon, which was in the valley that was called Gideon.   6:7
  22. I attempt to address you in my language; yea, by my own mouth, seeing that it is the first time that I have spoken unto you by the words of my mouth.   7:1
  23. I trust that ye are not in a state of so much unbelief.   7:6
  24. He [Jesus] shall be born of Mary, at Jerusalem.   7:10

  34. Their torments shall be as a lake of fire and brimstone, whose flame ascendeth up forever and ever.   12:17

  46. The Lamanites [were] a wild and a hardened and a ferocious people; a people who delighted in murdering the Nephites, and robbing and plundering them ... that they might not labor for them with their own hands.   17:13
  47. Thus they were a very indolent people, many of whom did worship idols, and the curse of God had fallen upon them because of the traditions of their fathers.   17:15
  48. Ammon stood forth and began to cast stones at them with his sling; yea, with mighty power he did sling stones amongst them; and thus he slew a certain number of them.   17:36
  49. He [Ammon] smote off their arms with his sword; for he did withstand their blows by smiting their arms with the edge of his sword.   17:37
  50. And then [Ammon] went in unto the king, bearing the arms which had been smitten off by the sword of Ammon.   17:39
  51. [Ammon] smote off as many of their arms as were lifted against him, and they were not a few.   17:89
  52. Others say that he is dead and that he stinketh ... but as for myself, to me he doth not stink.   19:5
  53. [King Lamoni's] heart was swollen within him, and he sunk again with joy; and the queen also sunk down ... and he [Ammon] was also overpowered with joy; and thus they all three had sunk to the earth.   19:13
  54. If now thou sayest there is a God, behold I will believe.   22:7

  61. The Lamanites ... hearts delight in the shedding of blood; whose days have been spent in the grossest iniquity.   26:24
  62. Tens of thousands of the Lamanites were slain and scattered abroad.   28:2
  63. And the bodies of many thousands are laid low in the earth, while the bodies of many thousands are moldering in heaps upon the face of the earth.   28:11
  64. My soul is carried away, even to the separation of it from the body, as it were, so great is my joy.   29:16
  65. There came a man into the land of Zarahemla, and he was Anti.   30:6

  67. Why do ye look for a Christ? For no man can know of anything which is to come.   30:13
  68. These things which ye call prophecies ... they are foolish traditions of your fathers.   30:14

  80. When Alma had said these words, Korihor was struck dumb.   30:50
  81. The curse was not taken off of Korihor; but he was cast out, and went about from house to house begging for his food.   30:56
  82. Those who had believed in the words of Korihor that they must speedily repent, lest the same judgments would come unto them.   30:57
  83. Thus we see that the devil will not support his children at the last day, but doth speedily drag them down to hell.   30:60
  84. Holy God ... we do not believe in the tradition of our brethren, which was handed down to them by the childishness of their fathers; but we believe that ... thou hast made it known unto us that there shall be no Christ.   31:16
  85. O God, we thank thee ... that we may not be led away after the foolish traditions of our brethren, which doth bind them down to a belief of Christ, which doth lead their hearts to wander far from thee, our God.   31:16
  86. The place was called by them Rameumptom, which, being interpreted, is the holy stand.   31:21

  108. Concerning the state of the soul between death and the resurrection .   40:11
  109. The meaning of the word restoration is to bring back again evil for evil, or carnal for carnal, or devilish for devilish.   41:13
  110. The Amalekites were of a more wicked and murderous disposition than the Lamanites.   43:6
  111. Yea, they did fight like dragons ... and they did smite off many of their arms.   43:44
  112. The Lord is with us; and ... has delivered you into our hands ... because of our religion and our faith in Christ.   44:3
  113. God ... has strengthened our arms that we have gained power over you, by our faith, by our religion, and by our rites of worship, and by our church.   44:5
  114. Moroni was angry, because of the stubbornness of the Lamanites; therefore he commanded his people that they should fall upon them and slay them.   44:17
  115. The Nephites ... in four hundred years from the time that Jesus Christ shall manifest himself unto them, shall dwindle in unbelief.   45:10
  116. Alma ... was never heard of more; as to his death or burial we know not of.   45:18

  124. More than a thousand of the Lamanites were slain; while, on the other hand, there was not a single soul of the Nephites which was slain.   49:23
  125. Thousands of their wicked brethren have been consigned to bondage, or to perish by the sword, or to dwindle in unbelief, and mingle with the Lamanites.   50:22
  126. Moroni ... sent a petition ... to compel those dissenters to defend their country or to put them to death.   51:14
  127. There were four thousand of those dissenters who were hewn down by the sword.   51:19
